Vice President of Programming
Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations (Ampers)
Hlee joined Ampers in 2022, after more than 15 years in broadcasting, documentary filmmaking, multimedia producer, community organizer and small business owner, launching her own media production firm in 2018. She is a photographer, media producer, radio host, program manager, and organizational guru with a passion for community storytelling. Hlee’s dedication to community-oriented stories began when she benefited from such programs at Twin Cities Public Television’s Don’t Believe The Hype (a show by and for youth of color), ThreeSixty Journalism, and programming at In Progress. She learned that though everyone has their own story and their own journey, those not from the dominant culture rarely get the opportunity to share their stories on their own terms.
